Dutch brand Koningsvogel
Koningsvogel is a Dutch brand specialising in authentic Indonesian food, especially sambals, spices and sauces. Its history dates back to the 1950s, when many Dutch people of Indonesian origin repatriated to the Netherlands after political changes in Indonesia. Many of them missed traditional Indonesian cuisine, which led Rachel Flem-Sassoon, known as "Tante Reel", to develop instant products to facilitate the preparation of these dishes. In 1960, she created the first mixture for Nasi Goreng, combining spices and fat to make this traditional dish quick and tasty. This success laid the foundations for the creation of the Koningsvogel brand, which gradually expanded to include other products and gained popularity among lovers of Indonesian cuisine in the Netherlands and other countries.
