Cardamom is a spice obtained from the seeds of several species of plants of the genera Elettaria and Amomum of the ginger family. Black cardamom, also known as brown, larger, long or Nepalese cardamom, of the species Amomum subulatum, comes from the eastern Himalayas and is usually grown in eastern Nepal, Sikkim and parts of the Darjeeling region of West Bengal (India) and southern Bhutan.

Aroma and taste: heavier woody taste with a hint of smoked meat.
